I like your website, these dekotora trucks are amazing vehicles. One question, I notice that this black Hino Ranger dekotora dump truck (the one with the kamikaze plane painted on the side) has Red light bars on the roof. Can dump trucks or other commercial trucks in Japan use Red flashing lights like emergency vehicles do or are those lights just used for show?

Yes, certainly red flash light is illegal in Japan because it’s confusing with emergency veichle. it means this truck violate traffic law. some people cover red light with something to hide red light, but lots of people don’t hide it. They are brave man or maybe stupid. 🙂
I know these photo quality is not so good because these are old pictures. but you will know picture become good gradually. I have still really lots of Dekotora photo and I still keep taking photos. please be looking forword to seeing future posts.
